Inadvertent learning

As we spend more time at home these days, what have you learned inadvertently?Perhaps something based on self-reflection, a new hobby, or something by chance, inadvertent learning.
My days fly by – I feel fortunate to be able to work from home. But the absence of a commute or even the time to get ready to go to work has provided time for inadvertent learning. I now know the species of birds that consider my yard and trees home. I can even recognize who is singing! Something I did not think about, much less devote time to, when I was functioning in life as we knew it. In fact, I believe I can now even recognize individual robins from the robin families that have nests around the house. (helps that they do not seem fazed by the two larger birds that sit outside more frequently!).
I have also learned to sit quietly and not think – an accomplishment that I was never able to master before (in fact to the point that yoga irritated me and the many thought tracks in my head would no
t stop). It surprised me. And I realized I can accomplish all the tasks that my previous thought tracks worried about and much more when I slow down.
Enjoy the week and I hope you keep learning!
